It's difficult to imagine anyone but Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones. However, the role of the daredevil archeologist was initially offered to Tom Selleck. Due to issues with his Magnum P.I. TV series contract, Selleck had to turn it down. Ford's other iconic role, that of Han Solo in Star Wars, was also not offered to him first. Both Christopher Walken and Al Pacino passed on playing Han Solo before Ford accepted the role.
