In the beginning of the movie, the dinosaur scared Larry Daley, the night watchman. However, the dinosaur was just trying to play a game of fetch with him, as Larry learned after reading the instructions left by the security guard. Initially, he threw a large bone for the dinosaur to chase. He then decided to tie a bone to a toy car and had the dinosaur chase that instead.
