Being a shark hunter by profession, Quint (Robert Shaw) knows that Orcas — traditionally known as "killer whales" — are the only known predator of the Great White. So, it made sense for Quint to name his boat Orca. In Jaws, Quint was joined on the boat by Brody (Roy Schneider) and Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss). Schneider ad-libbed the now famous line, "You're gonna need a bigger boat."
